Location: Plymouth, MA Category: Faculty Positions Posted On: Fri Mar 1 2024 Job Description: GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Cape Cod Community College is seeking qualified Aviation Electronics Technology (AET) Instructors for the Aviation Electricity Technology "Avionics" Program, located in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Instructors will lead and teach ASTM/NCATT AET certification and endorsement courses on a regularly scheduled basis for the Department's offerings.
This includes providing classroom and laboratory instruction in aviation electricity and electronics / avionics subjects and related technologies to a diverse student population enrolled in the Aviation, Associate of Applied Science Degree, and Aviation Electronics Technician Certificate Programs, in addition to other Cape Cod Community College students as needed.
The part-time hours available can be varied based on course schedule and semester, up to 4 hours per class.
Monday - Thursday with occasional Fridays and Saturdays as needed.
Opportunities exist for a successful candidate to also serve as the part-time Avionics Program Coordinator for additional compensation (stipend).
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Classroom and laboratory instruction of ASTM / NCATT AET avionics courses.
Participate actively in program activities, meetings, and faculty development sessions.
Participate in the Department's assessment, development, and implementation of lecture and laboratory curriculum, courses, and programs.
Maintain own professional certifications and remain current in aviation maintenance practices and standards.
Maintain and submit attendance, grades, student evaluation, and all other required documentation and reports per established procedures.
Actively utilize proven student retention techniques approved by the College.
Attend in-service training seminars, as required.
Complete performance-based teacher education modules, as assigned.
Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Current ASTM/NCATT AET Certification, or FCC License or FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certification.
Three years of relevant work experience in an aviation maintenance capacity.
Ability to obtain the ASTM/AET Certification with endorsements within one year.
Demonstrated presentation skills in the classroom including integration of computer-based aviation software program(s).
Commitment to the community college philosophy.
Demonstrated evidence of keeping current in the fields of aviation and teaching.
Ability to relate pedagogically to the needs and interests of students.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach to working with students and colleagues.
Potential to make significant contributions to curriculum and project development.
Ability to meet the challenges of a broad curriculum and a student body with diverse abilities, interests, and backgrounds.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree or higher in electricity, electronics, or aviation maintenance with a focus on avionics and installations or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
Skilled user of PowerPoint, MSWord, and Excel.
Ability to utilize media equipment.
Ability to read/interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
Ability to maintain control in a classroom environment and diffuse difficult situations when necessary.
Strong verbal, written, and teaching skills.
Experience with the integration of aviation technology and alternative delivery systems of instruction in the teaching-learning process.
Experience, an appreciation for, and commitment to working in a global, multicultural academic setting.

Additional Information: COMPENSATION: $54.
73 per hour, up to 18 hours per week; part-time, non-benefited MCCC Unit position.
