As a member of our Executive Team and reporting to the Co-Founders, the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) oversees all activities in the marketing department and is responsible for the creation of innovative marketing strategies that are tested for learning and lead to continuous improvement and success.
The ideal candidate possesses tremendous leadership and communication skills and has proven success in innovative and traditional campaigns across the broad spectrum of the present-day marketing channels.
The CMO is a ground-breaking leader with creative, strategic, and financial acumen coupled with strong business intellect necessary for taking the business to new heights.
The CMO is also an experienced marketer who is able to lead and drive branding and marketing efforts in order to scale strategic marketing efforts across a portfolio of solutions.
Attention to detail, an eye for quality, and the ability to translate technical capabilities into customer benefits are crucial.
The CMO’s key goals are brand building and revenue/margin growth.
Responsibilities: Leadership/Supervisory Oversight and accountability for all activities and performance of the marketing department, including Public Relations, Internal Communications, Analyst Relations, Social Media, Creative, Content, SEO, SEM, Performance Marketing, the Marketing Tech Stack, Brand Marketing, Industry Events and Marketing Operations.
Creation and responsibility for the companywide marketing budget.
Must demonstrate Net at Work’s Core Values and ensure those values are adopted by all marketing teams.
As the leader of the department, the CMO also plays a mentorship role to key senior marketing department staff, ensuring constant growth in their professional skills.
The CMO is integral to expanding the Marketing Team by hiring and retaining highly effective marketing professionals.
Strategy Lead strategy formation within the department, reviewing and approving all strategies in application by all teams.
Initiate and implement measurable strategies that aid in driving the business’s revenue goals and increasing awareness at all levels of the business’s reach – regional, national and beyond.
Responsible for developing marketing plans that reach target segments promptly and effectively and dispenses them to relevant marketing teams for adoption.
Collaboration Collaborate and partner with Business Unit leaders for the creation of solid plans and strategies that will have a vast customer outreach reflecting the targeting, segmentation, and value proposition development of the business.
Mobilize communications in launching strategies and ensure alignment and efficiency of efforts to reach business targets and objectives.
Work closely with data analysts in measuring marketing programs and campaign results and adjusting these programs for continuous success.
Online Initiatives Ensure the establishment of best-in-class web presence that will drive aggressive awareness for the business and significantly assist in the acquisition and retention of the business’s customers.
Evaluate online marketing performance and lead the marketing team in creating excellent web and social media presence to enable the awareness of the business/brand to propagate quickly.
Develop innovative campaigns to increase the quantity of spectators with a goal of turning them into loyal customers.
Brand Building/Story Telling Responsible for the continuous development of the business’s unique and compelling voice, which also aids in building awareness, relevance, esteem, and reputation among target customers.
Ensure that the brand is strong and consistent in all marketing strategies and tactics and communicated creatively and dramatically to attract attention to drive revenue.
Relationships Establish meaningful relationships on behalf of the business to leverage and broaden the business’s reach and impact, including strong relationships with market influencers as well as media outlets.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related field.
Master’s Degree/MBA a plus.
20+ years of progressive experience in high-level marketing position for a business in a dynamic and highly competitive environment.
Proven success with B2B providing software, technology, and SaaS solutions.
Well-rounded knowledge of the marketing industry with vast experience in leadership and an ability to motivate and promote professional development of a cross-functional team, having led that team from the conceptualization of a marketing initiative to its successful completion.
Proven and successful record in building brand awareness and portraying a deep understanding of marketing principles, sales and business development, and product and service management.
Advanced working experience dealing not only with online/modern but also offline/traditional marketing and communications functions.
Exceptional communication skills, capable of communicating technical messages in a simple, clear, unambiguous, relatable, and digestible manner to varying audiences; ability to communicate clearly and convincingly to media outlet personnel, market influencers, and external partners.
Extensive experience developing, optimizing, and managing the data collection process utilizing CRM and marketing systems and MS Office Suite; adept at leveraging cloud-based tools to conduct virtual meetings and communications within the organization and externally.
Keen understanding of market dynamics and an ability to translate them into actionable strategies and marketing programs that aid in the achievement of the business’s overall objectives.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet rigid deadlines, be extremely comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and working in a group setting.
Must be self-motivated and inspire the same in others; have a positive can-do attitude, excellent time-management skills, and exceptional problem-solving skills.
Must demonstrate superior leadership skills, having an ability to inspire and move a cross-functional team towards a unified direction with a common vision.
