Position Summary:
This role is a senior sales role, responsible for new business development & expansion of existing accounts within the municipal and industrial sectors.
This person serves as a Key Account Manager responsible for generating profitable business by establishing relationships and credibility within identified client base through the following key aspects:
Responsibilities:
This position will pursue and manage accounts located within MA, CT & RI.
Travel within this role will typically be limited to the described geographic sales territory.
Overnight travel is not likely.
In this role, daily activities may include visiting waste water treatment plants, sewage pumping stations, industrial & manufacturing sites and other related clients.
Activities may include taking measurements of sites, tanks and retention ponds and estimating waste material depth & volume, in order to provide proposals.
Significant field time is likely, as a conduit to conduct site visits and develop and maintain relationships.
Heavy daily interaction with operational counterparts is critical to ensuring proposal accuracy and client site requirements.
Prospect new customers within the industrial space, in assigned geography.
Manage all client interaction with existing client growth objectives.
Act as a resource to customers by using consultative selling techniques to teach clients about the services we provide, and offer unique perspectives on the services we perform for their business.
Own client relationship throughout the project timeline, to ensure clear communication with client and internal operations teams.
Research & understand local operational and logistic strengths, to best identify potential growth areas and clients that we can best service with our offerings.
Ensure excellent service delivery and dependability to increase retention and growth of customer base
Develop and implement strategic sales plans for Industrial/Manufacturing and local municipalities to support the company in achieving profitable revenue growth (e.
g.
, detailed revenue potential estimates for all sites, analysis of decision process and key players, weekly plans for activity and revenue growth for each account).
Maintain an accurate CRM sales funnel by documenting all customer interactions, quotes, and closed won jobs in Salesforce.
Successfully propose, negotiate, and close sales opportunities at existing and new account locations.
Understand account profitability, value, and potential to develop strategy to maximize profit and increase market share.
Prepare pricing proposals & bids utilizing margin calculators and pricing for equipment, labor, subcontractors, and other resources.
Knowledge/ Skills:
Experience selling into industrial manufacturing facilities
Experience selling into municipal wastewater facilities
Familiarity and demonstrated success in securing bids in municipal accounts
Experience in wastewater treatment and management
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally to evaluate price, profitability, and resources needed for projects
Effective at managing large, complex projects
Demonstrated strong business acumen
Demonstrated fortitude and perseverance to work through customer adjustments and adaptability to address unanticipated challenges.
Ability to develop credibility and nurture relationships
Experience working within a CRM
Qualifications:
5 years of wastewater industrial knowledge/experience preferred
True industrial/commercial B-to-B experience preferred
Hunter-style sales mentality
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong account management background
