Autocenter Sales Service / DriveMax is a family owned South Shore MA business with over 450 vehicles in stock.
We are growing and we are looking for a GENERAL SALES MANAGER / GENERAL MANAGER.
This individual will have at least five years’ experience in dealership management, as he or she will be responsible for ensuring the continued growth and profitability of the dealership, as well as customer service and retention.
The GM will oversee the Sales, Service and Inventory departments to ensure collaboration amongst all team members for the shared goal of dealership success.
*Responsibilities*
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Provide strong, enthusiastic leadership to all departments and team members on a daily basis, including performance management, training, and mentoring.
* Manage the sales, service, and inventory processes, fully taking ownership of the dealership operations.
* Develop strategic monthly and annual sales goals, focusing on increasing market share and maintaining aggressive profit margins.
* Work to meet and exceed sales goals while continuously monitoring existing processes, looking for improvement opportunities.
* Manage dealership inventory lifecycle, including reconditioning, pricing, and merchandising while monitoring customer satisfaction and market trends to purchase appropriate inventory.
* Assist in the trade process to ensure that vehicles are appraised correctly.
* Oversee the finance process, maximizing profitability and ensuring customer satisfaction and understanding of contract terms.
* Collaborate with the company’s Owner and Controller regarding dealership financials, including inventory expenses and repairs.
* Have a commanding knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and ensure that all teams strictly adhere to these standards.
* Supervise the showroom floor, ensuring customer needs are met.
* Take responsibility for the physical maintenance of the dealership, both front-of-house and back-of-house.
* Oversee the dealership’s online presence to improve marketability.
* Develops merchandising strategies and assists in creating effective, cost-efficient advertising programs.
* Resolves any customer complaints that department managers are unable to rectify.
* Other duties as may be required.
*Qualifications*
* A minimum of five years’ experience in dealership management.
* Passion for delivering an exceptional customer service experience.
* Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop talented team members within all departments.
* Proven track record of meeting or exceeding monthly and annual sales goals.
* Exceptional communication skills in person, over the phone, and in writing.
* Strong negotiation skills.
* Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
