We need people like you to help make it happen! *Job Summary:* As a Senior Product Line Manager (PLM), you will have full Product level responsibility, including profit and loss (P&L) oversight, for the Instrumentation product lines at Programmable Power.
Overall responsibilities include: * Oversee strategic planning and roadmap development; * Define and execute “Go To Market” strategies for new product commercialization; * Spearhead market research targeting industry/application trends, competitive analysis, and growth industries that can be transformed into strategies for the business; and * Drive content with local Marketing team to promote new products and create tools enabling ease of use and expanded knowledgebase.
*Key Responsibilities:* * Establish relationships with key customers to solicit voice of the customer (VOC) input on new product concepts.
* Serve as the product roadmap architect for the business.
Define, create, and execute your defined product area.
Develop a strategic plan that is data driven and appropriate to the given business climate.
* Own the new product and assure it will be successful both technically (performance and reliability) and financially.
* Review assigned products’ pricing relative to margins and competitive products, making price change recommendations to support product price list update schedule.
* Work closely with Sales, Engineering, and other departments to provide definition of new products including technical requirements, competitive analysis, specifics of markets served, expected multi-year sales forecast, return on investment, and project justifications.
* Participate in the new product development (NPD) and launch process with primary authorship responsibilities for Concept Approval (CA) requests and Marketing Requirements Documents (MRDs).
* Provide marketing application support for assigned products.
This may include the research and write up of application notes and marketing bulletins as well as participation with field sales team members to find cost effective solutions for customer challenges.
* Participate in marketing launch activities for new or updated products.
This includes user manual generation support, ads, sales training, press releases, marketing collateral materials, and other activities as defined in the launch plan.
* Review modified standard product requests for technical and financial feasibility including return on investment criteria.
The PLM verifies if there is a business case based on projected development cost, engineering opportunity costs, and sales forecast of such special engineering request.
