This is a great authentic flamenco guitar made by Ryoji Matsuoka, one of the most well-known Japanese luthiers.
I believe this is a all solid instrument made of spruce top and cypress side & back.
The finish was professionally redone recently as you can see per the shiny body.
Hard to believe this was made back in 70s.
70s is known as the golden era during which luthiers had still access to great quality woods and Japan became famous globally for manufacturing guitars.
The president of Aria at the time asked Matsuoka to make guitars for his company, acknowledging his great skills and qualities of his guitars.
This guitar has great mid, nice bass making the tone robust flamenco sound.
Just minor signs of age, but overall very
nice, indeed.
I used to have a $2000 flamenco guitar made in Spain (made in 2000s), but I think this one is as good as or even better than today's $2000 guitar.
