*Position Overview:* We are seeking a highly skilled and DAANCE certified Dental Assistant to join our team at our oral and maxillofacial surgery practices located in Southern New England.
The successful candidate will provide chair-side assistance to our oral surgeons and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care.
*Responsibilities:*
* Assist oral surgeons during surgical procedures, including dental extractions, implant placements, and other oral surgeries.
* Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and equipment for procedures according to OSHA and infection control standards.
* Take and record patient medical and dental histories, vital signs, and treatment information.
* Provide post-operative instructions to patients and ensure they understand proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care.
* Perform dental radiographic procedures, including digital radiographs and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans, as required.
* Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
* Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies.
* Collaborate with the administrative team to schedule patient appointments and coordinate treatment plans.
* Uphold a positive and professional attitude while interacting with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
* Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for patients and staff.
*Qualifications:*
* DAANCE certification (Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination) required.
* High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred.
* Current CPR/BLS certification required.
* Proficiency in dental terminology, procedures, and instrumentation.
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
* Familiarity with dental practice management software (e.
g.
, Dentrix, Eaglesoft) preferred.
