The Role:
Moderna is developing first-in-class messenger RNA (mRNA) based medicines.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manager in our Technical Development Strategic Operations team to deploy a robust and integrated digital framework across an increasingly complex portfolio of technical programs in early development through post-launch.
Reporting to the Director, you will be a member of the Strategic Operations team that is responsible for translating our Technical Development (TD) strategy into execution.
The candidate will help develop an integrated digital framework to create and deploy digital tools and analytics and scale up integration capabilities within TD.
A successful person in this role will be able to recommend, develop, implement, and support business process and digital tools that maximize value and efficiencies across technical programs.
The candidate will be a contributor across high functioning teams that efficiently and effectively achieve goals together and thus will need to quickly build relationships at all levels of the organization to make well-informed recommendations and decisions.

The Technical Development organization is comprised of scientists, engineers, and problem solvers that develop and implement the most innovative, advanced, and robust platform processes and analytical technologies to deliver Moderna’s medicines.
In this highly cross-functional role, you will collaborate with a team of cross-functional and functional leaders in Technical Development and beyond, including CMC, Digital, Finance, GMP Operations, Supply Chain, R&D Strategy and HR.
The role is based in Moderna’s new Moderna Technology Center campus in Norwood, MA.

Here’s What You’ll Do: Work closely with functional leaders, Technical Development Team (TDT) matrix leaders and operational team stakeholders to enable integrated portfolio-level tracking of department goals/objectives, technical milestones and technology roadmap Understand data visualization needs, build databases and integrated dashboards focused on defining prioritization, identifying gaps/risks, resource allocation and decision-making frameworks to ensure TD achieves its milestones Implement analytics on technical programs and projects to review trends, progress on KPIs/metrics and help inform decisions Prepare status reports for project review forums and updates/communications to senior management Translate user requirements for internally developed applications in collaboration with our digital teams Lead and support business process development and optimization workstreams Collaboratively develop and maintain interactive dashboards from the data gathered (such as budget, hiring, objectives), providing trackable metrics and regular readouts on program/project progress Improve TD systems and tools, to scale project management capabilities of technical integrators and tracking of timelines and milestones Continue to build and maintain the Technical Development culture and community Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table: Degree in Chemical/Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or related technical discipline Minimum of 5 years (PhD) or 10 years (BS) industry experience in biopharmaceutical development and project management/integration Experience in building digital tools to support business processes and data visualizations while applying principles, concepts, practices, and standards of drug development Expertise in data mining, data visualization, and dashboards taking advantage of various platforms (eg Tableau, Smartsheet, Spotfire, Alteryx, Phython, etc.
) Demonstrated understanding of the drug development lifecycle from R&D through commercialization, including an understanding of the interdependencies of functional groups such as process and analytical development Ability to effectively collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment.
