Our community is seeking a compassionate and caring Resident Care Director.
This role is responsible for hiring, training ,and managing the care staff at our community.
This role will also serve as the liaison with physicians ,family members ,and outside care providers.
• Responsible for hiring and managing nursing staff.
• Supervises the plan of care for each resident and ensures that staff follow their assignments as outlined in the resident’s individual service plan.
• Ensures that all Resident Care Associate staff complete the mandatory in-service requirements as well as keeping their licensure up to date.
• Develops and updates policies as appropriate to Executive Office of Elder Affairs regulations as well as operational policies affecting resident care as well as policies and procedures as they apply to Resident Care Associate and Nursing.
• Communicates (within the terms of HIPPA) with physicians, outside private duty agencies, and family members to ensure resident wellness and safety.
• Providing facility in-service programs on resident health and other topics as necessary to comply with Executive Director of Elder Affairs requirements.
• Participate and manage in Self -Administration Medication Management and Limited Medication Management
• Must maintain written documentation of incident reports, resident assessments, service plans, 30-day review, and introductory visit form.
• Responsible for all documents governed by Executive Office of Elder Affairs.
Conduct assessments in a timely manner.
• Develop and manage Resident Service Plans and agreements.
• Coaches staff verbally and in writing and provides disciplinary action when necessary.
• Assuring compliance with all resident care related regulations (e.
g.
, medication management, resident assessments, care plans)
• Documenting and providing accurate record-keeping, as appropriate.
• Demonstrating personal/resident safety methods and procedures
• Occasionally responsible for a delegation of authority to cover for the Executive Director in his/her absence.
Provides a pre-occupancy assessment on all potential residents and communicates with the Director of Marketing and Executive Director to plan for move in needs of the resident.
• Follows all regulations on all medication audits and Resident Care Associate skills assessments once every six months.
• Participate in Manager on Duty
• Provides orientation for new residents as well as Introductory Visits with all care staff.
• Attends and takes part in family and community events when asked.
• Maintains a current nursing license and completes all CEU requirements.
• All other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Qualifications:
• Must be licensed in the State of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse with knowledge of aging and disability issues.
• Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relations skills and have a strong desire to enhance the quality of life of residents living in assisted living.
• Good judgment and leadership skills as well as strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with elders or persons with disabilities
• Develop, maintain, and implement or arrange for the implementation of individualized service plans.
• Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia.
• Experience in a healthcare setting.
