The Snow Manager is responsible for selling new snow removal, retaining current accounts, and overseeing all snow area managers/subcontractors and snow operations during the winter.
During the landscape season you will be prospecting/bidding for snow removal, preparing site maps, and continuously improving training program.
Our snow portfolio runs throughout Greater Boston, Cape Cod, and Rhode Island.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
* _Sales Management_
* Prospect for potential new clients across all regions we currently service
* During the landscape season you will be responsible for prospecting and selling other company provided services
* Renew previous contracts and maintain existing client base
* Network - join industry organizations, attend industry functions
* Keep sales logs up to date
* Use approved estimating and pricing procedures
* Maintain a gross margin goal on total portfolio of business
* Prepare site maps to review with clients prior to the snow season.
* Find and build relationships with subcontractors to supplement our snow removal team
* Attend and participate in weekly meetings
* _Operations Management_
* Work with area managers to determine capacity and service areas
* Forecast resources, schedules and allocations with area managers making sure staffing levels and equipment resources are appropriate
* Follow procedures to train operators in job specifics, scope of work, time sheets, billing, quality, and safety.
* Ensure all clients sites are being serviced to expectations during a snow event
* Respond to client complaints during a snow event and delegate as needed.
* Document damage to jobsite preseason and post season.
Repair damage after season through use of landscape crews or subcontractors.
* You will be operating a plow/salter vehicle during snow events.
*Qualification Requirements*
* Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience and P&L responsibility in snow and ice management
* Resolve problems while keeping in mind the best interest of the company, clients, operators, and crews
* Able to drive a pickup truck with a plow and salt spreader
* Work with numbers accurately; good working knowledge of math and business formulas, including gross margin and P&L statements
* Proficient in various computer programs, including Excel, Word, Estimating and job cost systems
* Working knowledge and continual develop of better equipment, technology, and processes to continually move division forward.
* CSP – Certified Snow Professional certification is a plus.
*Salary* - Up to $110,000 with substantial bonus potential based on sales closed and gross margin of division.
