Foxborough Regional Charter School Seeks Executive Director
About the School
For twenty-five years, the Foxborough Regional Charter School (FRCS) has provided students, regardless of ability, with a challenging academic program to prepare them for college by stressing achievement, discipline, hard work, and accountability.
FRCS promotes positive ethical, moral, and civic values and prepares students to serve their respective communities as leaders and good citizens.
Families and students who choose FRCS benefit from the following: Curriculum for Career Readiness: An enriching and challenging program of studies for all students in grades K-12 that offers a wide range of learning experiences in every content area.
Service Leadership: Projects and issues requiring critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and real-life applications of students academic studies through FRCSs Student Life and Community Service-Learning programs.
Diversity and Culture: A long-term mission and vision for equity and inclusion.
The FRCS community values differences and actively engages its diversity to prepare students for success in a global society.
Located in Foxborough, MA in two buildings on its 50-acre campus, FRCS currently educates more than 1,600 students in grades K-12 from over twenty diverse communities.
FRCS is in very strong financial position with an annual operation budget of approximately $30 million and 250 teachers and other employees on staff.
The school is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of seven dedicated community leaders.

About the Transition For over eighteen years, FRCS was under consistent, long-term school leadership, after which, the school has experienced several leadership transitions since 2020.
Currently, the school is being well-led by Edward Ingram, a highly experienced interim school leader who will remain in that role until a new Executive Director is on board.
The Opportunity In addition to effectively and efficiently overseeing all ongoing school operations and finances, high priorities for the Executive Director are: Reconsidering the schools mission and vision in the wake of shifting student demographics and allowing for more and diverse pursuits for FRCS graduates.
Stabilizing school leadership after several school leader transitions in recent years.
Maximizing student academic achievement across all grades.
Capitalizing on the diversity of FRCSs student body and providing the culture, programs, and supports needed to ensure all students are positioned for personal success.
Supporting a culture built on respect and integrity, one which holds individuals accountable while recognizing unique, individual contributions.
Increasing effectiveness and transparency of decision making while more proactively incorporating the perspectives of FRCSs experienced and engaged teachers and staff.
Fostering deeper engagement by the board and with the entire school community while also improving school-wide communications.
Profile of the Ideal CandidateDesired Credentials: Passion for and commitment to FRCSs mission, vision, community, and diverse student body.
A minimum of five years of educational and executive leadership, or equivalent experience preferably across multiple grade spans.
An advanced degree in education or a related field would be ideal.
Understanding of and experience in the charter public school sector is a plus.
Skills and Attributes: Strategic and Committed Leader Experience leading a school as it considers its big picture and long-term vision, ultimately aligning the schools capacity, structure, decision making, and actions around the schools big why.
Able to analyze and commit to a long-term approach and implement stability plans for the schools greater good even if those approaches and plans require challenging and difficult choices.
Skill to prioritize and address issues and align tasks to strategy while being both an effective leader and strong manager, all without micromanaging.
Commit to fostering a growth mindset, encouraging flexibility, and promoting collaboration amongst staff.
Record of making a long-term commitment to a school community and achieving significant results.
Experienced Educational Director Successful record leading a school or educational organization of similar scale and size in terms of educational program, students, staff, and budget.
Able to influence, advise, and coach the schools academic and/or instructional leaders to maximize student achievement.
Grounded in teaching, learning, and instructional principles and practices, focusing on the core business of education; prior teacher experience desired.
Commitment to academic excellence, staying abreast of current research in K-12 education.
Knowledge of student development, social-emotional learning, and the clinical aspects related to student behavior and well-being.
Familiarity with positive behavioral interventions and supports, CASEL social emotional learning, multi-tiered systems of support, and restorative practices.
Culture and Team Builder Approachable and present leader able to make deep and meaningful connections with students, parents, teachers, administrators, staff, and partners.
High emotional and cultural intelligence with the ability to foster a positive, trusting, and inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels heard and respected.
Able to represent FRCSs majority minority school community and create an equitable environment for all students, particularly Black and brown students.
Advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, prioritizing fairness, equity, and justice in all aspects of school operations and implementing anti-racist policies and practices.
Willing to drive and sustain cultural change, committing to the long-term success of the school.
Engaged People Manager and Community Connector Prior personnel management experience with the ability to delegate authority to senior leadership and hold others highly accountable.
Able to leverage strong educational knowledge to address issues and effectively foster open communication with teachers for a positive learning experience.
Able to promote collaboration and stakeholder involvement while coaching staff to excel, encouraging self-reflection and growth.
