Responsibilities: 1.
Plan, implement and evaluate program operations to ensure compliance with federal regulations and state policies and procedures, including all procedures relating to: • WIC benefit issuance • Vendors • Management Information System • Caseload management • Fiscal operations • Data quality • Quality assurance • Staff deployment • Sites-opening and relocation • Local Program Evaluation 2.
Acts as liaison between the sponsoring agency and the state WIC office and between local program and health and human service agencies.
3.
Hires and provides ongoing supervision and annual evaluations for Senior Nutritionists, Community Coordinators, and Program Assistants.
Assists the Senior Nutritionist in the hiring and evaluation of nutrition staff.
4.
Provide training in coordination with The Learning Center staff, the Community Coordinators, and Program Assistants.
5.
Define (with the Senior Nutritionist) staff responsibilities, work schedules, participant service hours, and client flow.
6.
Ensure that WIC staff have up-to-date knowledge and skills by: · Requiring staff attend State-sponsored conferences and business meetings and in-services.
• Conducting regular staff meetings to share information and resolve problems.
• Conducting annual staff reviews (in collaboration with the Senior Nutritionist).
· Providing annual civil rights training, customer service training, and domestic violence training for all staff.
• Ensuring that nutrition staff obtain 10 CEU credits annually, and program staff obtain 5 CEUs annually.
7.
Ensure collection of immunization data, assessment of immunization status, provision of immunization education, and referrals.
8.
Supervise the distribution of Farmers' Market coupons.
9.
Provide annual vendor training, monitoring of vendors and follow-up on all vendor complaints to ensure federal and state regulations are followed, and to ensure participants have a positive retail experience.
10.
Work with the Senior Nutritionist and Community Coordinator to develop outreach and referral networks, and provide WIC information, as needed, to community agencies and health care providers.
11.
Attend Business meetings, Local Program Workgroup meetings and other required meetings and trainings.
12.
Participate in required staff, multi-disciplinary and person-served meetings and training as assigned.
13.
Adhere to the agency’s policy regarding confidentiality and execute duties to reflect reasonable safety standards.
Universal/standard precautions must be utilized, and training obtained in areas that constitute risk.
14.
Perform other related work duties as needed or as assigned by supervisor or designee Qualifications: EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS: Bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, nutrition, and at least two years’ experience in program administration, with supervisory experience, or Master's degree and one year of experience in program administration, with supervisory experience.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, with own means of transport.
EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated leadership and decision-making capabilities.
Experience in program planning and administration.
Previous WIC experience and/or RD/LDN preferred KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Sensitivity to the needs of the participant population.
Ability to articulate program goals and policies to participants, health care providers, community agencies, and vendors.
Ability to work well with management information systems.
Ability to work adjusted schedules.
