Position Description:
This position will lead Boston O&P’s newly developed R&D team based out of our new Stoughton, MA headquarters that will be responsible for the design and execution of new pediatric specialty bracing product and service ideas throughout the full life cycle from idea creation to development and introduction into the market.
This senior leadership role will develop a team of engineers to work with an already existing team of pediatric certified orthotic and prosthetic clinicians to develop these products and services.

You will work directly with peers in our Corporate Team for Compliance, Central Billing, Supply Chain, and Clinic Operations to ensure proposed processes are properly reviewed and maintained and problems are identified and resolved promptly.
You will allocate a minimum of 4% of time per each employee being led to leadership activities every week and prioritize these activities over any other job duties.
Other Leadership Responsibilities:
Participate with Human Resources in the full employee life cycle from hiring decisions, onboarding, training and performance management.
Coaches and provides ongoing direction and feedback to develop team members as well as administer our formal Performance Review Process.
Acknowledge team and individual successes as well as use the tools for corrective action i.
e.
; additional training, performance improvement plans or warning process.
Manages teams payroll, time off requests and employee scheduling.
Provides input to the leadership team for merit increases.
Lean:
Creates a lean culture of continuous improvement by creating teams that are identifying and problem solving
Plans daily huddle
Plans and executes monthly staff meeting
Devotes staff time to foster and implement ideas for improvement
Education/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B.
S.
) from four-year college or university recommended; or 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven ability to systematically lead others
Ability to create a strong team culture and motivate others
Able to create strong cross-functional relationships and leverage them for project success
7+ years of medical device industry experience
7+ years technical leadership experience
Working knowledge of mechanical design principles and regulated medical device design controls
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
