How you make a difference:
As the Assistant Program Medical Director, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all medical programs and care provided meet or exceed constitutional requirements of access to care, right to professional medical judgment, and right to care that is ordered.
You will be required to supervise and provide care in accordance with the applicable standards and requirements, as well as the contracting agency and security regulations of the institutions to which you are assigned.
Effective communication and adherence to these regulations will be key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruit, retain, and develop the provider team; provide clinical oversight to the facility medical programs, accrediting and contracting agency, and serve as supervising physician for mid-level positions based at regional office.
Manage formulary and non-formulary medication, monitor medical provider documentation for audit compliance, and provide regular feedback to providers to improve performance and reduce penalties.
Work closely with utilization management team to manage offsite trips, understand, utilize and monitor Chronic Care Clinics that assure compliance with accrediting and contracting agencies, and provide direct patient care where needed.
Perform annual reviews for providers based in home office and collaborate, communicate and coordinate with the Program Medical Director, providers, and other teams in responsibilities which include but are not limited to Continuous Quality Improvement, Healthcare-related patient grievances, Infection control, and Utilization management of inpatient and outpatient services, laboratory, and deploying clinical initiatives.
Effective management of provider teams, clinical oversight, medication management, audit compliance, and collaboration with other teams are key responsibilities for the Assistant Program Medical Director to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education
MD/DO from an accredited university.
Experience
Experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine or Public Health preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
Must obtain and maintain current licensure within the states as required, accrediting and contracting agency.
Maintains a current DEA number.
Must maintain privileges.
Maintains CME requirements for continued medical practice in each State
