The Lead Mechanic will oversee the vehicle maintenance operations and allocate resources to ensure all club-owned vehicles are repaired safely and accurately in multiple fleet locations.
The ideal candidate is also responsible for the supervision of the daily operations of the mechanic department, ensuring that all fleet equipment is maintained in a safe and serviceable manner.
Major functions in this role include but not limited to, hydraulics, various engines, diesel motors, troubleshooting, welding and fabrication.
What you will do:
Oversees the overall vehicle maintenance operations by supervising the daily activities of the shop staff with coaching and mentoring
Allocates resources to ensure all vehicles are repaired safely and accurately in multiple fleet locations for various club owned vehicles
Assigns work based on role, proficiency, competency, schedules, and operational requirements.
Inspects the shop to maintain a safe and hazard free work environment, ensuring compliance with all safety policies and processes
Monitor shop staff work levels and review work performance providing input in staff performance reviews to Fleet Manager
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on club-owned vehicles
Delivers Five Diamond service during all Club and business transactions
Collaborates with and provides support, and guidance to other fleet regions for complex vehicle maintenance issues and consistency within the department process
Oversees day-to-day new truck set-up or any updates on fleet vehicles
Stays updated with trends, technology, and equipment changes in the industry to provide recommendations of best effective and efficient method

Experience
5+ years of knowledge and ability to operate general hand tools, diagnostic equipment and tools, meters, tire equipment, lubrication items and pneumatic equipment
5+ years of medium and heavy diesel truck experience
3+ years of ability to research and comprehend reference materials and manuals
Licenses and Certifications
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Automotive and or Medium/Heavy Duty Truck required
State Certified Vehicle Inspector preferred
Education
High School Diploma or GED Required
Associates degree or bachelor’s degree preferred
Physical Working Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, climb or balance, and talk or hear.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
