Rockland Trust is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Credit Training Manager to join our team and play a crucial role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of our credit professionals.
The primary responsibilities of the individual will be to manage the daily operations of the Commercial Credit Department’s highly visible and sought after training program and to be responsible for the development of Credit Analyst Trainees.
The Credit Training Manager will provide support to ensure a smooth workflow of loan requests appropriate for beginning analysts, and helping them form a network between the various areas of the Commercial Banking Division: e.
g.
Lenders, PM’s, CLS’s, Credit Administration, Real Estate Review, and Credit Operations.
They will provide training and guidance to credit analysts, and review analyses completed by analysts within the department for quality and accuracy of work produced.
Managing the bank’s Commercial Credit Department and specifically its credit training program, including directly supervising the Credit Training Officer and a team of trainees, completing performance reviews, providing guidance and training to develop analysts’ skills to improve the quality of credit analyses produced.
Developing and implementing comprehensive commercial credit analysis training programs for credit analysts through internal development and external programs.
These individuals will have very limited or no prior financial statement analysis experience.
Ensuring training materials align with industry best practices and company policy Providing guidance to all credit analysts on Commercial Lending Policies, Procedures, and Risk Rate assessments.
Setting expectations for professionalism and the post-training goals of a career in commercial lending.
Assisting in review of external documents as needed, including legal, appraisals, asset based audits, enterprise valuations, etc.
as part of analysis review.
Working with Credit Training Officer and Analysts to coordinate the department workflow to meet credit department and lending center expectations for completion of analysis.
Reviewing requests for analysis of commercial loans submitted by Lending Centers for completeness of information, notifying lending teams of outstanding items or deficient information and appropriate time frame in which the information must be submitted.
Along with Senior Management, being involved in the scoping and selection of trainee cohorts.
Working with Credit Officers and other areas in the Commercial Loan Division for temporary and permanent opportunities for trainees leading up to and upon completion of training.
Monitoring and acting as liaison for certain programs/software/vendors that are utilized by the Bank for credit analysis purposes.
Providing Senior Commercial Credit Officer and Commercial Lending Senior Management with a variety of reports which reflect the workflow activity of the Credit Department.
Rendering assistance to lending officers and portfolio managers on credit matters and loan structure involving unusual situations or requiring close scrutiny.
If needed, completing credit analyses/annual reviews on commercial relationships, including complex commercial relationships Assisting with special projects assigned by the Senior Commercial Credit Officers and/or Chief Credit Officer.
Bachelors’ Degree in Finance, Business or a related field required, Masters’ Degree or relevant professional certifications preferred Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Commercial Lending area of a Commercial Bank, preferably as a credit analyst, portfolio manager or lender.
Prior experience in a management or training position preferred.
Strong knowledge of credit policies, financial analysis and regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication (oral/written) and interpersonal skills to effectively deliver training sessions and provide constructive feedback.
Ability to implement effective training programs that enhance team performance Detail oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities Working knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

Experience with nCino and Horizon a plus.
