*GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES*
The position is responsible for the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of A & A Metro Transportation fleet of vehicles, which consist of 115 vehicles ranging from sedans, vans, minibuses, and motorcoaches.
*ESSENTIAL TASKS*
* Oversee the repair and maintenance operation for all fleet vehicles, including garage operations
* Interview all prospective technicians and car washers.
Counsel employees; develop/implement/monitor adherence to policies and procedures; answer oral and written communication
* Knowledge of maintenance software, RTS to track PMs ABC, stickers, and fuel consumption
* Research and develop specifications for vehicles, equipment, supplies and materials.
* Plan/develop and execute a vehicle and equipment replacement schedule.
* Determine the need and benefits of out-sourcing vehicle repairs or services.
* Negotiate and establish repair cost or parts pricing with commercial vendors.
* Maintain equipment records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
* Review/process purchase requisitions for parts and supplies; review vendor bids and
responses for tools, equipment, parts, and services; monitor expenditures.
* Identify/coordinate training needs for garage employees.
* Perform related work as required.
*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*
Some standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching,
handling, pushing, and pulling.
*SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS*
*The Fleet Director should have the following skill set:*
Complete and up-to-date knowledge of state and federal transportation regulations
Good communications skills.
The ability to communicate, verbally as well as in writing
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Experience in leading garage personnel and setting up training.
Knowledge of diesel and gas engines
Knowledge of computer software to diagnose vehicle issues.
Knowledge of Motor Coaches, MCI’s
Knowledge of State Safety Regulations, State Motor Vehicle Regulations and State Trucking Regulations
Knowledge of Department of Transportation Laws (DOT)
*MUST have CDL License \*\*\*\*\*\**
Knowledge of state and federal record-keeping requirements
Ability to think on one's feet, make decisions quickly and handle emergencies effectively.
Knowledge of environmental cleanup responsibilities
Obtain and maintain truck licensing and registrations, emission testing, daily and annual inspections
Maintain work orders and parts inventory
Hire, train, schedule time worked and time off, manage employees
Responsible for shop safety
Comply with DOT, OSHA, EPA, and state laws
Must have experience in maintaining large fleets.
*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE*
Extensive experience as a garage management and/or fleet manager (5 years manager level minimum)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.
