League School for Autism is an award-winning, year-round program dedicated to the education of children on the autism spectrum.
Our team approach to education creates a collaborative, supportive and open environment within our community.
We are currently seeking a HEAD TEACHER to start immediately in our Foundations program.
Annual salary starts at $58,800 plus a $5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS after 60 days; additional $2,500 for Special Education license, $5,000/year for Master’s degree.
League School will help obtain required licensure for qualified candidates.
The program educates pre-k/elementary students with autism and related social communication challenges.
The curriculum is based on the MA Curriculum Frameworks/Common Core Standards and modified to meet student needs.
All classrooms are designed around student age, grade level and social communication needs, and are no larger than 8 students per classroom.
Position Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education with current MA license in MODERATE Special Needs, and experience with Autistic Individuals preferred.
Proof of MA DESE licensure required but will help obtain licensure if needed.
Safety Care, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
(League School will provide training).
Valid driver’s license.
Must pass rigorous background checks, including nationwide fingerprint screening.
Supervision Received: Education Coordinator Supervision Exercised: Teacher(s), Job Coach, Student Teacher(s) Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Collaborates with team to develop Individual Education Programs within the classroom/school and community settings.
Utilizes internet-based ESPED program in conjunction with team to write IEPs.
Collaborates in the development of behavioral intervention plans, sensory diets, social pragmatic programming, and daily living-skill techniques for individual students as part of multidisciplinary team.
Collects and records data regarding student performance in all skill areas as directed by team, Education Coordinator, and/or Director of Clinical Services.
Analyzes data to measure student progress throughout the year.
Consistently implements, or monitors implementation of, all components of treatment programs, including all accommodations and services outlined in students’ IEPs and BIPs.
Develops a therapeutic and effective relationship with students: uses appropriate voice modulation, sets reasonable boundaries with communication and actions, etc.
Implements individual and group behavior programs: positive reinforcement, breaks, time outs, etc.
, as designed by Behavior Specialists and the team.
Provides curriculum content based on the Massachusetts Frameworks to implement each student’s goals and objectives, as written in his/her Individual Education Program.
Records curriculum implemented on Curriculum Mapper program.
Attends and facilitates classroom team meetings and classroom conferences.
Attends annual IEP reviews, 3-year re-evaluations, supervision, staff meetings, intake meetings, and other meetings as directed by Program Leader or administrators.
Completes formal assessments and necessary data collection to track student progress.
Completes written reports: Quarterly Progress Reports, Individual Education Programs, Re-evaluation Reports, and assessment materials deemed necessary by the team and clinical department.
Has lesson plans prepared and ready for review that are appropriate for all students in the classroom.
Develops and executes a classroom and school schedule that provides structure, consistency, predictability.
Completes all necessary MCAS assessment requirements for students in his/her classroom.
Performs other related duties, as designated by the Assistant Director of Education/Director of Education, which are deemed necessary for the operation of the school.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Google Suite (GMail, Google Docs, Google Drive, etc.
), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Edge.
