0 FTE Special Education Teacher for the Elementary, Team-Based Learning (TBL) Program at Heights Elementary School for grades K-2/3.
The TBL Program is a partial inclusion program that provides a highly structured and safe environment with consistent routines, low staff/student ratios, and specially designed behavioral, academic, and therapeutic supports.
The TBL Program is staffed with 2 Special Education teachers, a full-time social worker, and 4 Instructional Assistants.
A contracted service provider supports the program as a Behavior Interventionist.
The Special Education teacher works directly with students providing specially designed therapeutic, academic, and as-needed behavior supports.
Experience with SEL, PBIS, team-based collaboration, and collaborative problem solving preferred.
The successful candidate will have experience working with elementary-age students as well as students with disabilities.
Role and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Participation in the IEP team process
IEP case management
Administering standardized assessments
Data analysis and developing written evaluation reports
Provide direct instruction
Provide therapeutic support within TBL classroom
Oversight of instructional Assistants
Implementation of behavior intervention plans
Consultation with families, related service providers and outside agencies as applicable
On the job training as well CPI (Crisis intervention and De-Escalation) training is provided.
Salary is commensurate with experience based on the Sharon Teacher's Association collective bargaining agreement.
DESE Moderate Special Needs Pk-8 licensure required
