1:1 Specialized Instructional Assistant- Heights Elementary

The Sharon Public Schools is seeking a 1:1 instructional assistant for a student with physical disabilities.
The successful candidate will have experience with students with disabilities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Physical support of student through out the day (ie repositioning every 2-3 hours, transfers from wheelchair to alternate seating, pushing stroller or chair as necessary) In class support academically and socially as needed Toileting and other self-care tasks for the student is required* Support during transportation to and from school is required (IA will be paid for 2 additional hours each day)** Due to the nature of this position and the required responsibilities, it is classified as a Specialized Program Instructional Assistant.
Salary is commensurate with experience in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement Specialized IA pay scale.
*An annual stipend of $1000 is provided for toileting and self-care hygene responsiblities.
**This position includes an additional hour in the am and in the pm, supporting transportation to and from school.
Heights Elementary school hours 8:50 am- 3:05 pm and follows the Sharon Public Schools Calendar.
