At the Cardinal Cushing Centers, we support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing possibilities and opportunities for growth and advancement.
Our programs for students, adults and community members include education, employment training, transition services, residential care, therapeutic and recreational services.
The teacher is expected to plan daily lessons aligned with the MA Curriculum Frameworks in order to meet each student where they are at.
They must differentiate instruction for their individual students in accordance with those frameworks as well as with the IEP for each student.
The teacher must create and maintain a safe environment and manage rules and expectations with staff within their classroom.
They will need to develop IEPs, take daily data, and report progress within mandated timelines.
The teacher should have an understanding of a variety of special needs and how disabilities may impact learning and instruction.
The High School class provides all DESE required instruction, MCAS or MCAS Alt, as well as introduction to vocational skills and community opportunities in order to enhance instruction.
