Possession of a Master's Degree or higher.

Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience.

At least two (2) year's Administrative/Supervisory experience.

Valid certification as a Superintendent/Asst.
Superintendent5.
Valid certification as an Administrator of Special Education6.
Such alternatives or additional qualifications as the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Superintendent of SchoolsJOB GOAL: Responsibilities include performing the duties of the Superintendent of Schools when the Superintendent is not available to perform these duties.
To administer, supervise, and coordinate Guidance Services, Special Education, Health Services, School Psychological Services, Related Support Services, Grant Programs, and to oversee Curriculum and Instruction, as well as to perform other related support services as might come up from time to time as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.
Responsible for performing the duties of the Superintendent of Schools when the Superintendent is not available to perform these duties.
2.
Assists in recruitment, selection, and recommendation for hiring of any new staff under his/her supervision.
3.
Administers, supervises, and coordinates all Special Education Services of the Avon Public Schools.
4.
Assumes responsibility for the full implementation of laws and regulations governing the delivery of Special Education Services.
5.
Maintains all records, as required by related laws and regulations.
6.
Evaluates existing programs, as ongoing responsibility and recommends changes deemed necessary.
7.
Develops in-service training programs for staff members as necessary.
8.
Prepares related budgets in collaboration with the Business Office staff.
