Specialized Para Professional

Overview: The specialized paraprofessional works closely with and under the direction and supervision of the leadeducator for the benefit of all students.
The specialized paraprofessional is evaluated by the buildingprincipal.
Duties and responsibilities may vary depending on the specialized paraprofessionalsassignment and may be assigned to one student or a group of students.
Duties & Responsibilities: ABA instructional methodology implementationImplement behavior plans and potential restraints as appropriateProvide coverage for Classroom/Special Education Teachers for meetingsPrepare materials for special education departmentSupport students at job sites both in school and in the communitySetting up assistive technology for student useWeekly training/consultation with liaison as built into scheduleReinforce previously taught concepts in a small group settingDuties that are designated by the PrincipalDocumenting students progress both academically and behaviorallyBe aware of and adhere to confidentiality protocolReinforce instruction under the lead educators managementPerforms other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designeeQualifications: High school diploma or GED requiredExperience working with special education population preferredABA experience preferredRestraint training preferredAbility to work with students in a tutorial capacity necessaryAbility to follow directions of the lead educator and/or the building principal is essentialEmployment based on successful completion of a CORI and fingerprinting background check
