Long Term Sub needed for December 14, 2023 - March 1, 2024.
The Randolph High School English teacher will facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implement district approved, standards-based curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals.
The ideal candidate will: -Collaborate with school personnel, parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and planning curriculum.
-Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
-Promote equity and appreciation of diversity-Maintain classroom management-Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement-Plan and deliver effective instruction-Execute the subject matter knowledge requirements specific for English Teachers, including: Correct usage of the English language Deep understanding of sentence structure, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and literature Creative composition such as prose, poetry, short stories, narratives Write arguments to support claims in an analysis of substantive topics or texts, using valid reasoning and evidence Technical writing skills, including news articles, reports, journals, and essay.
Development of the students oral and written communication skills, including critical thinking, oral and written comprehension, and problem solving skills.
-Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Building Principal and/or Coordinator
