*Position Summary:*
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Inclusion Gymnastics and Social Skills Program Instructor to play a crucial role in facilitating our unique program for children on the autism spectrum.
This role is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children and their families by fostering physical development and promoting social inclusion.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*Program Implementation:* Assist in implementing our inclusive gymnastics program tailored to the specific needs and abilities of children on the autism spectrum.
Work closely with the Program Coordinator to ensure that all activities are safe, enjoyable, and contribute to participants' physical and social development.
*Instruction:* Provide hands-on instruction and support to program participants, adapting teaching methods to suit individual abilities and preferences.
Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes self-confidence and social engagement.
*Individualized Support:* Collaborate with the Program Coordinator to support children and their families, understanding their unique strengths and challenges.
Assist in the implementation of individualized plans to help each child grow in both gymnastics skills and social interactions.
*Team Collaboration:* Work closely with other program staff and support workers to ensure a well-rounded experience for the participants.
Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues to continuously improve the program.
*Communication:* Assist in maintaining regular communication with parents and guardians to provide progress updates and address concerns.
Contribute to creating a strong sense of community and support among program participants and their families.
*Safety and Inclusivity:* Prioritize the safety and emotional well-being of all participants, helping to create an environment where every child feels valued, respected, and included.
*Qualifications:*
* Experience working with children on the autism spectrum.
* A background in gymnastics or related physical activities is a plus.
* Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorders and a commitment to inclusion.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
*Additional Information:*
* Part-time or full-time position, depending on the program's needs and the instructor's availability.
* Flexible hours may include weekends and evenings to accommodate the schedules of program participants.
