QUALIFICATIONS: A.
Minimum Qualifications1.
Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in a school setting2.
Experience working with students, families, and staff from various cultural andlinguistic backgrounds3.
Experience providing professional development or instruction to adult learnersB.
Preferred Qualifications1.
Masters, CAGS or Doctoral Degree preferred, but not required.
2.
Certified or able to be certified as MA DESE Administrator with SEI Endorsementin one of the following areas: -Supervisor/Director-Principal/Assistant Principal-Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent3.
Prior teaching experience, especially as a bilingual and/or English as a SecondLanguage Teacher preferred, but not required.
4.
Bilingual skills preferred, but not required.
5.
Experience interpreting and working with collective bargaining agreements, as wellas local, state and federal laws with regard to staffing.

Knowledge of laws, regulations and guidelines related to diversity, inclusion andnondiscrimination in schools, including Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, IDEA, ADA,and Section 504.

Experience using data and analytics to develop insights and drive decision-making.

LENGTH OF POSITION: This position provides on-demand consultation to North RiverCollaborative and school districts in the region.
Hours andschedule vary depending upon Collaborative and schooldistrict needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES: A.
Teaching and Learning1.
Works with the NRC leadership team as well as the leadership teams in multipleschool districts to identify, assess, and create action plans to address institutional biases andstructural racism in district programs and practices, and their associated impacts onunderserved and underrepresented communities.
2.
Using disaggregated data, prepare actionable items and metrics to close theopportunity gap and reduce discipline and attendance disparities, when present.
3.
Using disaggregated data, prepare actionable items and metrics to analyzediscrepancies in the identification of students of color for 504 Plans or IndividualizedEducation Programs (IEPs).
4.
In addition to these outputs, help to reshape programs and solutions that may becreating the disparities.
5.
Collaborate with curriculum leaders to identify more culturally responsive andjustice-oriented learning opportunities and to modify curricula, as needed.
6.
Build familiarity with the spectrum of programming for students with disabilitiesacross the collaborative and districts and participate in the promotion of inclusive practicesand disability awareness.
B.
Student, Staff and District Relationships1.
Form and facilitate partnerships with student leaders, build upon and institutionalizestudent-led equity initiatives to continue to enhance student climate and engagement.
2.
Engage directly with students, families, and staff to establish support groups andnetworks for underserved and underrepresented communities.
3.
Provide oversight for regular, consistent assessments related to school climate,diversity, and inclusion, including analysis of results; determine appropriate actions basedon the results.
C.
Program Monitoring1.
Establish protocols and a system for reporting, tracking, and monitoring incidents ofbias, racism, and discrimination2.
Provide guidance to collaborative and district leadership in determining appropriateresponses to these incidents3.
Measure, track and analyze the effectiveness of the collaborative and districts equityinitiatives to promote, build, and foster an anti-racist and multi-cultural institution; report onprogress and identify opportunities for improvement4.
Develop and implement feedback and monitoring systems that engage and capturethe voices of staff, families, and students.
D.
Family and Community Engagement1.
Partner with community groups to help ensure the communitys understanding of theexistence and impact of bias, discrimination, disability, and racism within the region.
2.
Act as liaison to relevant town groups/boards and present at school committeemeetings.
3.
Develop strong and substantive relationships with families to advance equity andinclusion.
E.
Consultation and Collaboration1.
Provide administrators and staff with support and guidance in addressing andresponding to specific incidents, including modeling inclusive communication and equitablediscipline2.
Facilitate district or regional DEI committees to advance the commitment topromoting, building and fostering anti-racist, anti-biased, multicultural institutions.
3.
Provide support, coaching and mentoring to district leadership regarding diversity,equity and inclusion practicesF.
Collaboration with Human Resources1.
Assist in designing and implementing talent management processes and systems toincrease diversity of the District faculty, staff, and leadership team.
2.
Consult with the Human Resources departments to develop and deliver meaningfuland engaging required training regarding civil rights, discrimination, harassment, and otherrelevant mandatory training.
3.
Provide support and tools for hiring teams, including assisting with the creation ofbias-free job descriptions, postings, and searches that reach and help identify diversecandidates.
G.
Special Projects and Other Duties1.
Plan, coordinate, and implement special projects and all other duties as assigned bythe Executive Director and Assistant Executive Director.
2.
Maintain transparent and open communication regarding schedule, work initiatives,and regional trends/collaborations with the Executive Director and Assistant ExecutiveDirector as well as the NRC Board of Directors.
