Job Summary:
Long-term substitutes are those teachers who will primarily be assigned to cover classrooms when Teachers are needed in meetings during the day.
These teachers may also be assigned to classrooms when staff have to leave the school unexpectedly.
These positions report directly to Human Resources and will be available to support classrooms in the Elementary, Middle, and High Schools.
Responsibilities:
Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students
Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions, and maintain a positive learning environment
Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student
Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground, and in the cafeteria
Other duties as assigned by the school principal

Qualifications- Required:
Education: Have a High School Diploma or equivalent
Candidates are subject to background checks including, CORI clearance, and fingerprinting
Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
Qualifications- Preferred:
Hold a Bacheolor’s Degree
Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License
Experience teaching in an urban school district

7:30am - 3pm Monday - Friday
